Proper preparation before your appointment is essential for achieving the best results and minimizing any potential complications. Please read through the following important guidelines to ensure your skin is in optimal condition for treatment:
Alcohol & Caffeine: Avoid both for at least 24 hours prior. They can thin the blood, increasing the risk of bleeding and affecting pigment retention during the tattooing process.
Blood-Thinning Medications: Refrain from taking aspirin, ibuprofen, or any other blood-thinning medications (including fish oil supplements) for at least 48 hours before your appointment—unless medically necessary. Always consult your doctor before stopping any prescribed medication.
Sun Exposure & Tanning: Do not sunbathe or use tanning beds. Sunburned or overly tanned skin can be too sensitive and may not retain pigment evenly.
Facial Waxing or Exfoliation: Avoid waxing or intense exfoliation in the area to be treated, as this can irritate the skin and impact your results.
Strong Skincare Products: Stop using Retin-A, acids (AHAs/BHAs), or other strong actives on the treatment area at least one week before your appointment. These can thin the skin and increase sensitivity.
Recent Facial Treatments: Do not come in with freshly treated skin from facials, chemical peels, or microdermabrasion. You must wait at least 2 weeks after any of these procedures before your cosmetic tattoo session.
Cold Sores: If you’ve ever had a cold sore (even once), it’s strongly recommended to take an antiviral medication (e.g., acyclovir or valacyclovir) before and during healing. Lip Blush can trigger cold sores, even if it’s been years since your last outbreak.
Dry or Chapped Lips: Healthy, hydrated lips take pigment better. Begin moisturizing your lips in the days leading up to your appointment—Lanolin is highly recommended. Please avoid Pawpaw ointment or Vaseline, as they do not effectively hydrate.
Exfoliation: If you are prone to flaky lips, you may gently exfoliate with a lip scrub, but stop at least 4 days prior to your appointment to avoid irritation.
Following these guidelines will help ensure your skin is in optimal condition for the best cosmetic tattoo experience and results!
A “Pre” and “During” procedure numbing is required for all cosmetic tattooing. This must be ordered through my compounding chemist.
Order Early: You must order at least 3–4 business days before your appointment to ensure it arrives in time.
Delivery: Ask for the numbing to be sent directly to YOUR ADDRESS. Alternatively, you can pick it up directly from the chemist located in KEPERRA.
Cost: You will receive 1 x tube of Pre-Numbing and 1 x tub of During-Numbing. The cost is $34.90 + $10 postage. This covers both your initial and touch-up sessions.
Process: Click the link below to enter your details. The chemist will contact you to confirm and take payment.
You are responsible for applying the PRE-NUMBING (White Tube) at home 30 MINUTES before you arrive.
Dab, Don’t Rub: Apply the cream generously to your brows or lips by dabbing it on.
The “Ghost” Look: Apply it thick enough so you cannot see your skin/hair—only the white cream.
Seal It: Cover the area with a small piece of cling film (plastic wrap). Important: Do this even if the package instructions say not to cover it.
Bring It With You: You must bring both the tube and the tub of numbing to your appointment.
For the best results, please follow these steps meticulously during your first 8 days of healing.
Gentle Cleansing: Wipe your brows gently with a wet wipe or damp cotton pad every 15 minutes for 1 to 2 hours, or until they wipe clean.
Morning & Night Wash: Use the provided foam to wash brows very gently outside of the shower.
Drying: Always pat dry with a clean tissue.
Hydration: Apply a pea-sized amount of the provided ointment only. Continue this for 8 days or until flaking has settled, then resume your normal routine.
Keep Dry: Do not wet the brows for 8 days. This includes avoiding running water from the shower and swimming.
Activity: Avoid sweating, saunas, and intense exercise for 8 days.
Environment: Sleep on a clean pillowcase and avoid direct sunlight or tanning.
Products: Avoid active skincare, makeup, or tinting products on the treated area.
Professional Treatments: Wait 2 weeks before receiving facials or injectables.
Hands Off: Do not touch or pick your brows, as this can cause pigment loss and scarring.
Each person heals differently. It is vital to trust the process as your brows evolve day by day.
| Timeline | The Experience |
| Day 1 | Immediate love for your new, defined look. |
| Days 2–5 | Brows may appear temporarily too thick or too dark. |
| Days 5–10 | Brows may appear to change shape and will begin flaking. |
| Days 10–15 | The “ghosting” phase; brows may appear much lighter than expected. |
| Day 15+ | The color returns, though they may remain slightly patchy. |
| Touch Up Day | The perfecting session where shape, color, and thickness are finalized for the “obsessed” finish. |
A Note on Perfection: At your perfecting session, we will address any concerns regarding shape, color, or thickness to ensure your results are exactly as envisioned.
The longevity of your color depends on the care taken during the first week of healing.
Wipe the Fluids: Gently wipe the area with a baby wipe every 30 minutes for the first 3 hours to remove plasma and fluids.
Cleanse After Eating: After eating or drinking, clean the area with a baby wipe and apply aftercare balm using clean hands or a cotton tip.
Hydration: Apply a sparing amount of aftercare balm with freshly washed hands or a cotton tip. Remember: too little is better than too much.
No Lipstick: Avoid all makeup on the procedure area for at least 3 days. If possible, use new makeup afterward to avoid bacterial infection.
Hands Off: Do not scrub, rub, or pick at the epithelial crust that forms; let it flake off naturally to prevent pigment loss.
Lifestyle: No smoking or kissing for at least 3 days to minimize infection risk and ensure optimal color retention.
Please be patient with your results; lip tissue is delicate and requires time to settle.
| Timeline | What to Expect |
| Week 1 | Lips appear bold in color, feel tight, and may become dry toward the end of the week. |
| Week 2 | Dryness subsides, but lips may appear dull or temporarily uneven. |
| Weeks 3–4 | Outward healing is mostly finished and flaking stops. Lips may look darker as they settle. |
| Week 5 | The “Light Phase.” Color may lighten or soften significantly. |
| Weeks 6–8 | Time to Touch Up. We finalize the color and shape, as this is rarely a single-session process. |
It is common to experience shifts in your appearance during the first 8–12 weeks.
Initial Reactions: Swelling, itching, scabbing, and light bruising are expected. Ice packs provide relief for swelling, while aftercare balm calms scabbing.
Color Fluctuations: Your lips may initially appear too dark or slightly uneven. Within 2–7 days, the darkness will fade, and unevenness typically disappears once swelling dissipates.
The Ghosting Phase: It is normal for color to seemingly “disappear” during healing. The area must be completely healed (at least 6 weeks) before we can address any concerns at your touch-up.
Long-Term Care: To keep your blush looking fresh, a touch-up is recommended every 1 to 5 years, depending on your skin and lifestyle.
